      Very impressive, very large bronze cloak pin from an ancient region of Iran called Luristan.
       
      In excellent condition. Completely intact, from snout and horns to the tip of the pin.
       
      The 11 inch size of this pin made it a very capable defensive weapon as well. It is solid bronze, formidable and sharply pointed with a comfortable grip around the cage (see pic).
       
      The last pics show a very similar pin that was donated to Yale in 1986. Note the size (7-1/4" which is typical) and the rough condition.
       
      This is a terrific ancient bronze piece that is very impressive to admire up close and hold in your hand. The dark green patina is wonderful. It is in beautiful shape.
